Ursuline College student organization to take the lead on supporting public health awareness by hosting a Go Red for Women Campaign Fundraiser. The Student Nurses of Ursuline College (SNUC) are proud to support the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign for the ninth consecutive year. The Fundraiser will benefit research efforts in the fight against women’s heart disease.
Heart disease and stroke continue to be the #1 and #4 causes of death in women, claiming the lives of nearly 500,000 American women each year. Celebrating it’s 10th Anniversary, the Go Red Campaign was launched by the American Heart Association, the nation’s oldest, largest voluntary organization devoted to fighting cardiovascular diseases and stroke. The organization strives to fund innovative research, fight for stronger public health policies and provide lifesaving tools and information to save and improve lives.
Student Nurses of Ursuline College (SNUC) is the largest student organization on campus. The purpose of SNUC is to urge students of nursing as future health professionals, and to be aware of and contribute to improving the health care of all people. SNUC is a unified organization of nurses on the forefront of community change.
The fundraiser will be held at Embassy Suites in Beachwood, Ohio Saturday, March 1 from 6 to 11PM. SNUC also asks the community to support their efforts through the donation of gift cards, services, gift baskets and/or monetary donations. For more information visit ursuline.edu/events/go_red_2014.
